I recorded it last night and watched it this morning. Wickens will be in victory lane at some point this season. Rossi was very impressive after a rough pit stop and penalty.

I’m excited to see these new cars on a bigger track like Indy.

I can’t believe Rossi drove himself out of that. He should have Stroll’s seat, at least.

As an Indycar fan, I’m glad Rossi isn’t in F1.

Fair, but I don’t want Williams to suffer this badly, even if self-imposed, you can have Helio or Daly back?

I would go as far as to say that Wickens is a championship contender with how he has been driving.

I’ll occasionally watch an F1 race, but I find indycar to be much more entertaining to watch. I don’t want to debate the merits of which one is “better” but I think indycar is a lot more fun. F1 seems like a battle between two powerhouses. Everyone else is just along for the ride.

I think Rossi is on the way to another Indy 500 win, proving that it wasn’t just a gas mileage related fluke.

It’s certainly possible, but I don’t know if he can maintain this level all season. I imagine he’ll have a rough patch at some point.

I just hope he doesn’t get poached by team Penske. The series is better when they aren’t dominating.

I certainly noticed! That was a wild finish. Wikens has been very impressive. It’s great to see SPM really turn things around.

I’m sure he can (he’s the reigning DTM champion after all), the question is whether or not SPM can give him good cars all season.

Considering that Wickens is replacing a very crash prone Mikhail Aleshin, I hope that his pit crew can get used to actually having to work for a full race.

I don’t get to watch much DTM, but I’m guessing that they don’t race on large ovals. We’ve seen him do well on a street course and a small oval. It’ll be interesting to see him on a big oval like Indy. Of course, if you’re good enough on everything else, you don’t need to win on ovals for a championship.

If I was placing a bet, I’d say that I’d bet on Wickens winning one of the two duels in Detroit this year.

Last night was his first oval race ever.

I would not be surprised at all to see him win at either Long Beach or Barber.

If he wasn’t hit at st. Pete, he’d be leading the championship

Reigning dtm champ is Rene Rast

I wouldn’t be surprised either but I like his chances of winning in Detroit better just because there are two races. He might get unlucky in one of the races, but I think he’ll prevail in one of the two.

Huh, it seems that Indycar has their information wrong. They listed him as the 2017 DTM champion during both the St Pete and Pheonix race coverage.

Wickens finished 9th last year. His best finish was 4th

That’s what I saw when I googled it. Indycar should double check their info as they have had info blocks at the bottom of the screen listing him as the 2017 champion during both races so far this year.
